The Man Behind the Name
Travis McNutt fell in love with detailing cars before he was old enough to drive. After earning his degree and spending time in the corporate world, he decided to turn that passion into a career and launched Paint Slayer in 2015.
What started as a local detailing operation quickly grew into something bigger. When Travis entered the ceramic coating side of the industry in 2016, he was brought on as a National Sales Rep for Ceramic Pro — a role that evolved into National Trainer. In that position, Travis and his wife Skye traveled across the country, visiting detail shops in nearly every state, teaching owners and their teams how to build their businesses around paint correction and ceramic coating services. Along the way, they detailed exotic and luxury vehicles for clients from coast to coast.
That national-level experience gave Travis a perspective most local detailers simply do not have. He has seen how the best shops in the country operate, trained their teams, and worked hands-on with some of the most demanding vehicles on the road — from McLarens and Teslas to classic muscle cars and show builds.
Coming Home to Amarillo
In 2019, Travis made the decision to bring all of that knowledge back home. He returned to Amarillo — where he grew up — and opened Paint Slayer Auto Spa on Hobbs Road. The goal was straightforward: give the Texas Panhandle a detail shop built to a national standard.
What We Do
Paint Slayer Auto Spa is a full-service automotive appearance shop. The team handles everything from paint correction and ceramic coating to window tint, paint protection film (PPF/clear bra), custom vinyl wraps, full interior and exterior detailing, and even boat and RV work.
Paint Correction removes swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and other clear coat imperfections through multi-step machine polishing. The result is deep gloss and mirror-like clarity that regular washing cannot achieve.
